Ava Dennis

Teaching Artist Assistant

Ava Dennis is a lifelong New Yorker, artist, and museum educator. She approaches teaching in all her roles as a collaborative learning experience, where students are empowered to ask questions and be their most authentic selves. She currently works as an educator at the New York Transit Museum, where her passion for public transportation in New York and beyond has flourished. In 2019, she was a Youth Apprentice in CAW’s Public Art Youth Employment program, where she experienced firsthand the joy and impact of creating public art for Bronx Family Court. She was most recently part of group and collaborative exhibitions as part of a class she took at the Berlin Summer University of the Arts that focused on site specific installations responding to the experience of transportation. In her free time, she enjoys knitting, drawing, spending time with friends and family, petting her cat, and exploring all that New York has to offer.
