Clair Vogel

Development Manager

Clair is a New-York-based arts administrator who was born in Bangkok, Thailand, and lived as a child in Vientiane, Laos, and Vienna, Austria, before returning with her family to the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. She holds a BA from the College of William and Mary, where she studied Linguistics and Music.

Clair joined Creative Art Works in late 2022 as a Development Manager with a focus on institutional giving. Previously, she spent three years as a member of the Development team at dance- and social-justice-focused nonprofit Gibney, working to sustain their contemporary dance company, Gibney Company, through the COVID-19 pandemic and building towards a sold-out, seven night run at the legendary Joyce Theater. At Gibney, she additionally acted as a staff-nominated facilitator for multiple internal Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion focused committees.

While living in DC, Clair worked at the Kirov Academy of Ballet, where she assisted the Executive Director and Music Director in the production and planning of a week-long classical music festival. The festival culminated in a performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, launching the school's new music program. She also worked at International Arts & Artists, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing cross-cultural understanding and exposure to the arts internationally.

Clair has practiced aerial arts in the United States and abroad for eight years. While training, teaching, and performing in the DC metro area, she was on staff as an instructor at Monarca in Flight, northern Virginia’s first dedicated circus arts studio. Since relocating to New York in 2020, she has performed on dance trapeze, corde lisse, and chains at institutions including the Slipper Room, the Muse, STREB, and Aerial Arts NYC.
