Operations Coordinator

Emilio is an operations professional, designer, and artist who has lived and worked in New York City for the last three years. Prior to becoming the Operations Coordinator, they worked as a Studio Operations Lead at LEAK NYC, a small art house/design startup in Brooklyn that works to center the experience of queer and trans bodies navigating contemporary life in metropolitan centers. Previously, Emilio has also worked at Rosalila as a Studio Supervisor, helping to streamline the daily functions of a burgeoning art studio focused on botanical sculptures and bespoke custom furnishings. Additionally, they have experience in the nonprofit sector through their prior work with the Center for Urban Pedagogy in Brooklyn. There, they assisted Youth and Community Engagement Initiatives to leverage art and design for wider civic engagement and education for all New Yorkers.

Emilio has a dual BA in Visual Arts and History of Art and Architecture from Brown University. A lifelong artist and designer, they maintain a personal practice that explores the ways natural forms and ancestral traditions intersect with our highly technological present and future. Hailing originally from Boston, Massachusetts, they are a lover of the ocean, plants, contemporary art, and bike rides.
