Madeline Deleon

Program Associate & Teaching Artist Assistant

Madeline, or “Maddie” for short, is a visual artist born and raised in NYC. Maddie is a former youth apprentice who has been working with Creative Art Works since 2016. She worked her way up to Teaching Artist Assistant in 2019 and became Program Associate in 2022. As a Program Associate, she provides administrative and management support to program participants, Teaching Artists, Program Managers and the Executive Director. In addition, she serves as a Teaching Artist for CAW programs and community events. Prior to joining the CAW staff full time, Maddie has worked as a Teaching Artist and Muralist for Friends of the High Line and Authentic Heartworks.

Maddie is a first-generation Dominican-American and the first of many in her family to graduate from college. She graduated from Borough of Manhattan Community College with honors and holds an AS in animation and motion graphics. Maddie was awarded with the Chancellor’s Endorsed Diploma for the Arts from the High School of Art & Design, a certificate of Advanced Designation through the Arts: Visual Arts. Maddie maintains a personal art practice and specializes in illustration, graphic design, comic book making, and character design. Most of her work centers around mental health awareness, self-love, celebration in diversity, Afro-Latinx culture, and individuality.

Aside from visual arts, Maddie’s hobbies include practicing bass guitar, singing, writing, learning music, playing video games, reading comic books, and dancing. Maddie is an avid fan of metal and pro wrestling.
