Momentum
Creating Momentum at Dock 72
Creative Art Work's' newest mural, Momentum, was commissioned by Dock 72 and a partnership between Boston Properties and Rudin Management. It celebrates the past and anticipates the future of Dock 72 and the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Once the birthplace of fabled naval vessels, the Navy Yard continues to be a center of cutting-edge innovation, industry and entrepreneurship, and the images on the mural reflect this rich history. They include one of the many great battleships constructed in the Navy Yard and the workers who built it; Brooklyn landmarks, including brownstones, cargo cranes, and The Brooklyn Bridge; and emblems of the modern tech explosion, including computers, high speed trains, movie sets, and drones.
At 10 feet high and 150 feet long, the grand scale of the mural will be visible from the Manhattan Bridge and across the East River. It will be installed along a ferry slip in time for the official dedication of the Dock 72 this fall.

Momentum attracted a lot of local media coverage. Here's a big shout out to our Youth Apprentices Oscar Saavedra, Timothy Daly, and Kezia King who represented Creative Art Works with grace and poise. CAW Board Chair Andrew Levin closed out the segment by summing up the importance of youth employment.
